We bring history to life!

We will do the Music, History and Folklore of Thanksgiving.

We don period dress to perform stories and songs of the 19th century. Each performance piece consists of an anecdote drawn from historical research, interwoven with a related song of the time. The stories tell what folks did and thought back then -- their acts and ideas. They form the source of our knowledge of the past. The songs reveal what they felt -- their emotions. They weave the fabric of our understanding.

Bob Patterson Florida Story Teller/Singer Songwriter...

My program is a mix of stories and songs designed to create awareness of Florida's natural history, it's indigenous people, and it's folklore.

Bob Patterson is a professional singer, songwriter, and storyteller with over forty years of experience performing at clubs and festivals all over the United States, and on nationally syndicated radio and television programs. His career began in the late 1960's when he signed a recording contract with the prestigious folk music label, Vanguard Records. He recorded an album at that time with his folk-rock band, Elizabeth. Bob wrote and sang the popular single ‘Mary Ann’, along with four other cuts on the album.

Bob Patterson is adept at a multiplicity of pursuits. He is a Fine Art Photographer, an award winning singer/songwriter, and he can play the devil out of a 12 string guitar.

Women of the Bible
The Good Girls and the Bad Girls
Part 2

A contemporary, visual interpretation of the famous and the infamous. Questionable characters such as Eve, as well as those historically revered or despised for generations.  This fun, colloquial piece lets us look into these characters as if they lived next door! Even the good girls are flawed  which means there’s hope for us all!

Florida Soup: Putting History On The Table is a photography and storytelling project.

Our state is unique in its food consumption and production practices both from a historical perspective and present-day realities. Florida has a rich harvest of storytellers from a tobacco-spitting blue crab fisherman who recounts commercial fishing practices of yesteryear to a rancher who reminisces about Depression-era farming and a few other surprising tales. This is a project on Florida’s love affair with food and storytelling.
